OD Grading Scale

A+ = 4.0   Distinguished and unique

 A = 4.0   Surpassed all expectations and requirements

A- =  3.7   Surpassed most expectations and requirements

B+ = 3.3   Very good; met all expectations and surpassed some requirements

 B =  3.0   Good; met all expectations and requirements

B- =  2.7   Met almost all expectations and requirements

C+ = 2.3   Did not meet many expectations and requirements

 C =  2.0   Did not meet most expectations and requirements

C- =  1.7   Met few expectations and requirements

 D =  1.0   Inadequate performance

 F =    0   Failure; will not apply to degree requirements

 I =       Incomplete; if permanent, will not apply to degree requirements

NG =  0    No Grade; issued when a grade is not posted by a professor.  This is equivalent to an Incomplete; if permanent, will not apply to degree requirements

 W =   0   Withdrawal

S =   Satisfactory is ONLY for the Capstone and reflects the student is making progress across several semesters.

An Incomplete (I) is assigned only when a student has petitioned for an extension and you have agreed by setting a new date.  An Incomplete is not an entitlement if nothing arrives at the end of the term.  We have many, too many, students carrying Incompletes because faculty did not set an extension date.
